How Heatable quote a solar roof

You answer a few questions about the house. You draw around the roof on their 3D map. The tool shows how many panels fit, an estimated saving, and a cash price. If you enquire, they run a full MCS design. That is the quote. Last floors we logged in the tool on 20 August evening were Alpha from £5,690, Sigenergy 9.04kWh from £6,100, and Powerwall 3 from £7,595. Use the live figure, not that snapshot.

The hardware pitch on their solar page is LONGi Hi-MO X10 485W, all-black, HPBC 2.0, 24% efficiency on their copy, with a 30-year product and performance warranty. Each panel gets a microinverter. MCS installer number NAP-68602. Which? Trusted Trader.

Scaffolding is extra. Their FAQ puts that at about £500-£750 once they know access. They also say a standard install without a battery is typically one day, and with a battery one to two days. Fit times they advertise: as little as 2-3 weeks for solar, or around 4 weeks with storage.

If you want the two firms side by side on boilers, finance and credit, that sits on Heatable vs iHeat. Who to quote for panels in general is best solar panels UK.

Battery aside

Want storage as well as panels?

VAT, grants and finance people mix up

  • No BUS on solar. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is a heat-pump grant. It does not pay for panels.
  • Warm Homes: Local Grant can include solar for qualifying households in England. Council-led. Check GOV.UK.
  • 0% VAT on qualifying solar supply-and-install until 31 March 2027 is a tax relief, not a grant and not a payment holiday.
  • Heatable’s “pay nothing ’til 2027” line is that VAT timing. It is not a 0% APR claim we can copy.
  • iHeat solar finance is from 9.9% APR. Their 0% APR is on heat pumps and, separately, on boilers.
  • SEG, not FIT. Export payments need MCS and a smart meter. The feed-in tariff has ended.
