A solar panel and battery package in the UK starts at £6,145 on iHeat for All Black 450W panels plus a 3.7kWh Hanchu, or from a live cash figure in Heatable’s 3D quote tool. The catch is that floor is a small battery, scaffolding usually sits outside the online number, and iHeat solar finance is 9.9% APR, not 0%.

Solar and battery: verdict
Quote Heatable first for the 3D roof and a printed cash price. Quote iHeat second for the public catalogue, from £6,145 with a small Hanchu. Bigger storage on iHeat is £7,845 with Sigenergy 6kWh or £9,845 with a Powerwall 3. iHeat solar finance is 9.9% APR Representative Fixed. Heatable 0% APR is on batteries, not a public solar APR. No BUS on solar.
What the combined ticket actually buys
A residential package should cover panels, inverter, battery, mounting, electrics, MCS certification and commissioning. Scaffolding is the line that often sits outside the online number. Heatable’s FAQ still puts typical scaffolding at about £500 to £750 once they have seen access.
Solar-only is a cheaper ticket and still cuts daytime use. A battery stores leftover generation and, on some tariffs, cheap overnight units.

The £6,145 row is the public floor, not the typical house. 3.7kWh is a small evening buffer. If you want a named larger unit, iHeat also list Sigenergy 6kWh at £7,845 and Powerwall 3 at £9,845 with the same All Black panels. The Powerwall 3 as a named battery, without this package job, is on Tesla Powerwall 3.
Heatable print a cash price in the quote tool
Heatable do print a cash price once you draw the roof. Do not treat their marketing page as empty of numbers. Last floors we logged in the tool on 20 August evening were Alpha from £5,690, Sigenergy 9.04kWh from £6,100, and Powerwall 3 from £7,595. We did not reopen the tool this morning. Use the live figure, not that snapshot.
The hardware pitch is LONGi Hi-MO X10 485W, all-black, microinverters, MCS NAP-68602. Batteries they name with PV are Alpha ESS, Sigenergy and Tesla Powerwall 3. How the 3D tool works is on our Heatable solar page.
“Pay nothing ’til 2027” on their solar page is 0% VAT marketing (relief currently to 31 March 2027), not a grant and not a payment holiday we can treat as 0% APR. Heatable 0% APR is advertised on batteries. We have not seen a public solar APR on their solar page. Workmanship on the solar FAQ is 12 months from Heatable, plus a 5-year insurance-backed warranty by IWA on the install. A standard job with battery is 1 to 2 days on site, fully fitted in as little as four weeks on their marketing line.
Battery-only is a different path
If the roof is not ready, or you already have panels, do not force a combined ticket. iHeat’s battery-only floor on 21 August is Hanchu 5kWh at £3,645 / £76, Sigenergy 6kWh at £5,245 / £109, and Powerwall 3 at £7,945 / £166, all from iheat.co.uk/battery-storage. Grant, VAT and what people mix up
- No BUS on solar. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is a heat-pump grant. Separate page: Boiler Upgrade Scheme UK.
- 0% VAT on qualifying solar and battery supply-and-install until 31 March 2027, then the reduced 5% rate on GOV.UK Notice 708/6. That is tax, not a grant.
- Warm Homes: Local Grant can include solar panels for qualifying households in England. It is council-led, not a grant you apply for at Ofgem. Check the GOV.UK application page. That is not a hard no on solar grants. The grants explainer is solar panel grants.
- SEG, not FIT. The feed-in tariff has ended. Export payments are Smart Export Guarantee, which needs MCS and a smart meter.

Solar only is cheaper and still cuts daytime use. A battery earns its keep if you use a lot of power after dark, or if you can charge cheap overnight units. The £6,145 iHeat floor is a small 3.7kWh buffer. Price a larger unit if evenings are the point.
